Yes, the Lord does desire that you all would prophesy, and I will tell you the reason why all do not prophesy. Prophecy requires a lifestyle of intimacy with the Lord, looking and watching and waiting on him to see what he will say. The reason all do not prophesy is that they do not seek him in this manner daily. There has been a lifestyle of being shallow and looking to prophets to hear the Lord rather than pressing into the Lord to hear him for ourselves. Brethren, the days are coming when we must hear the Lord’s voice in everything that we do. It is time for the church to grow up and mature. Exodus 20:19 Then they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.” 1 Corinthians 14:5 I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.
