Popular Christianity is full of self-appointed Five Fold Ministers. Jesus said that calling yourself a minister comes under the Jezebel anointing ( Rev. 2:20). He also said not to call each other teachers (Matt 23:10). This need to be known by a title is contrary to the message of Christ. Jesus said that the greatest among you shall be the servant of all. People who call themselves Prophets or Apostles are working for themselves, not working with Him or for Him. True ministers are those who have sought and waited for God to speak their callings in personal prophetic encounters. Then after a time of preparation and waiting, God validates these callings by speaking to leaders we are in submission to (Acts 13:2) . Self promotion is a sure way to prolong this process. Immature ministers can make the mistake of claiming a title, yet this does not invalidate their callings. To the degree that self promotion is involved in establishing our ministry will determine how much self effort is required to maintain that influence. Therefore, the wise will do all in their power to let God establish them. Thank God for ministries like MorningStar who esteem God's call in His people. If we have the spiritual aptitude, then our gifts can create breakthroughs and cause us to be known to God appointed leaders. The struggle is in the age of instant gratification it can be difficult to wait on the Lord. A secret to getting known in His kingdom: get so lost in our relationship with the Father, Son and Spirit that nothing else matters. This will make our life so full that if we get promoted or not it will not matter because like Mary we chose the best part: intimacy with the Creator (Luke 10:38-42). If we are captivated by Him time will not pressure us to perform. In First Corinthians 14:1, we are told to eagerly desire the spiritual (the word "gifts" does not appear in Greek). The reason we are admonished to cultuvate this desire is so that our supernatural intimacy with Him results in an abundance for good works. This overflow of intimacy becomes a blessing to those in our sphere of influence. The best thing we can do for others is to draw close to Him. YouTube Christianity is like the rest of the body, a mix of true and false ministry. It is very easy to grab a camera get a following and then feel like God's messengers. In my observations of YouTube ministries it seems that a portion of them have not submitted to God's process of purging for ministries. A process that is clearly laid out in the Scriptures. We are called to follow the Spirit not the algorithm for a successful YouTube following found in Google's policies.
