Isolation can be the breeding ground for all kinds of Sin. Don’t Isolate! Be loud and vocal about your shortcomings! “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.” ‭‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬-‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ It’s interesting that James refers to Elijah in this Chapter. After Elijah stood up to Jezebel he fled for fear of his life and went into a place of isolation and I believe he went into a deep depression t Due to the Attacks of the enemy. It’s not enough for a man to be in relationship with God alone. Jesus built his Church as a Body made of People for this very reason. To provide a safe place of trust and restoration. That we may be healed from not only the struggles of the past, but even the struggles of today! No Christian should ever be made to feel so ashamed that he or she cannot come to their community and confess their faults. ESPECIALLY LEADERS!!! We should be shouting from the rooftops: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ These words are a sword that cuts down the lies that the enemy of our minds daily whispers to us. You are a child of God and there is no sin so great, that would cause the father to stop loving you! This is the character that the body of Christ must attain.
