If God judged people like we do today, the Bible wouldn’t exist. Disqualified? Canceled? Think Again. • Disobeyed God? Adam and Eve broke the only command they were given—He could have destroyed them and started over, yet God still allowed them to become the parents of all humanity. (Genesis 3:6, 20) • Murdered his own brother? Cain killed Abel in jealousy—yet God still protected him and let him build a city. (Genesis 4:8-15, 17) • Drunk? Noah got wasted—yet God saved the world through him. (Genesis 9:20-21) • Liar? Abraham lied about his wife—yet God made him the father of nations. (Genesis 12:10-20, 20:1-18) • Deceiver? Jacob stole his brother’s blessing—yet God renamed him Israel. (Genesis 27:1-29, 32:28) • Murderer? Moses killed a man—yet God called him to deliver millions. (Exodus 2:11-12) • Coward? Gideon hid in fear—yet God called him a mighty warrior. (Judges 6:11-12) • Adulterer? David stole another man’s wife—yet God called him a man after His heart. (2 Samuel 11:2-5, Acts 13:22) • Prostitute? Rahab sold her body—yet she became part of Jesus’ lineage. (Joshua 2:1, Matthew 1:5) • Runaway? Jonah fled from God—yet he led a revival in Nineveh. (Jonah 1:1-3, 3:1-10) • Idolater? Solomon worshipped false gods—yet God gave him unmatched wisdom. (1 Kings 11:4-6, 3:12) • Suicidal? Elijah wanted to die—yet God sent him back with power. (1 Kings 19:4-8) But What About the New Testament? • Demon-possessed? Mary Magdalene was tormented—yet she was the first to see the risen Christ. (Luke 8:2, John 20:16-18) • Corrupt? Zacchaeus stole from the people—yet Jesus dined in his house. (Luke 19:1-10) • Betrayer? Peter denied Jesus—yet he became the rock of the Church. (Luke 22:54-62, Matthew 16:18) • Murderer? Paul hunted Christians—yet God made him the greatest missionary, a prophetic voice, teacher, and Apostle. (Acts 9:1-6, 1 Timothy 1:15-16) • Doubter? Thomas refused to believe—yet he carried the gospel to nations. (John 20:24-29) • Hot-headed? James and John wanted to call down fire—yet they became apostles of love. (Luke 9:54-56, 1 John 4:7-8) • Abandoners? All the disciples ran when Jesus was arrested—yet they turned the world upside down. (Mark 14:50, Acts 17:6) The world cancels. God redeems. Maybe we should rethink how we view people and their past.
