Excellent article from the Carolina Journal about the need for North Carolina legislators-goverment to be MORE transparent regarding how our tax dollars are spent and where they are going. A concerning point in the article is where they comment...4th paragraph from the bottom: "Carolina Journal and other news outlets are watching closely for legislative action on the 2023 budget provision granting lawmakers discretion over destroying records, limiting public access to vital legislative information. In 2023, the general assembly received the "black hole award" for that provision.
