We’re in a Habakkuk 2 moment. Verses 1-5 for the righteous. The rest of the verses for the unrighteousness. Verse 9 is the hinge pin. Let’s pray for those who have and continue to make money by deceit are convicted by Holy Spirit to Salvation — not only to be convicted of crime. This is the test right now. It’s not only the rejoicing of the plunder (wealth of the wicked) but that we carry the true message of our faith, the gospel of Jesus the Christ to the redemption of souls. It’s one thing to love your besties in Christ but quite another to love your enemies. We’re called to love one another. We’re called to love our enemies. We are called to bring a message of redemption in thought and deed. We’re called to renew our minds by the word of God to the mind of Christ. We’re called to love those who have fallen among us and to pray for them rather than exploit, condemn and curse. We must remember the new covenant that we’ve received. We must not cherry pick what we like and do not like about it. If indeed, we are called the body of Christ, we must understand the meaning of to love your neighbor as yourself. The body doesn’t attack the body, but the body loves. The body works together for the good of the body and works to protect the body. And on top of that, we’re called to a gospel, a great gospel that offers the same redemption that we’ve been given to all. Unfortunately, this has been offensive to many, but the gospel itself is offensive and at the end of the day, the pay is the same (Matthew 20:1-16).
