Greetings All, This is my Dad, Jack, being treated now for stage 4 cancer. He was dealt this hand last night, known as a “double run” in pinochle. This is the first time in his life getting this hand after playing this card game for sixty years. A double run is comprised of two aces, two tens, two kings, two queens and two jacks in one suit, which a person would call their “Trump Suit.” This is a hand of cards with five pairs, essentially all the trump cards other than the pair of nines, which not only wins the hand played, but the entire game because of its point value. The odds of being dealt a double run are one in twenty-four million! Two years ago, I dreamed we were playing cards together and that he was dealt this exact hand in hearts. Now this dream has been fulfilled. What does this mean? Surely, we are entering a time of fulfillment. God has been holding all the trump cards until now. The suit is hearts because of the Father's love for us. Instead of shame, our portion is the double portion of honor (Isaiah 61:7). God will do the impossible, even in pairs, and He will bring fulfillment. The “five” represents God’s grace in Biblical numerology, and we have abundant grace coming our way.
