It’s Election Day in the USA! We have been praying fervently. Now it’s time to put feet to our prayers. Vote. Encourage others to vote. Help others get to the polls to vote. Of course, it goes beyond voting on one day. Commit to civic engagement every other day of the year. No matter the election outcomes, commit to exercising dual citizenship: first to heaven, and then to your nation, state, county, and city. Advocate. Represent. Hold elected representatives accountable. Be salt & light. But today, make your voice heard at the ballot box. If you are local, join us at the BJVC 6am-12pm, and at the Solemn Assembly in the Atrium 12-4pm. Here are the prayer points I shared on Sunday at our 10 AM service. This day is critical, but so are the days that follow. Election 2024 Prayer Points: 1. Turnout of Believers to vote their values; break off lethargy and offense. 2. Courage of pastors and leaders to encourage voting. 3. Safety for the candidates - no assassinations! 4. Truth & transparency in media; deceptive narratives to backfire; neutralizing of PAC funded attack ads; use of non-traditional media to counter misinformation with facts and humor; discernment for the electorate. 5. Election integrity - Exposure of plots & schemes; Timely counting of legitimate ballots. 6. Swing states: NC, GA, PA, MI, WI, AZ, NV. 7. No violence intimidation or cheating at polling stations. 8. No terror attacks or attacks on infrastructure - communication, power, transportation, banking, etc. 9. Grant us God-fearing, freedom-loving candidates in all three branches of federal and local government: Executive (president/VP, governor/lt gov), Legislative (Fed & state House of Representatives, Senate), and Judicial (judges and Supreme Court justices). 10. Godly leaders in local elections - mayors, council members, school boards, etc. 11. Truth to prevail with post-election tallying and certification of votes & electors. 12. Fairness & justice with any legal appeals 13. Minimize civil unrest - grace and wisdom to local leaders and law enforcement; we bind chaos anarchy & violence, and loose Your shalom over our cities and rural areas. 14. Raise up arks of safety and cities of refuge in times of trouble. 15. Isaiah 60 - As the darkness gets darker, let the glory of the Lord appear brighter over Your people.
