Some of my friends where I used to live might wonder "What's up with Mark getting so political? What's he going to do IF Trump looses? Is he really a Christian?" I suppose some of the friends of Daniel, Moses, Esther, Joseph, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego probably wondered the same thing. NOT that I am likening myself to any of these great people of the Bible at all. Each one of them had to listen to the voice of God and make their decisions. For me, I know that I know that God wanted me to get more involved in our government and politics. I had to make the decision to put feet to my faith and love for my country. I do not care if I lose friends. I don't want to loose them but I will not change unless God tells me. My wife is totally on board with my involvement. I would imaging the Bible people I mentioned above probably felt as I did about their government, political leaders and felt they wanted/needed to do something. Their desire mixed with God's leading produced massive changes. That's where I am at. I am doing my part, as God has directed me, to help make a difference in the country I deeply love and care about. Yes! Absolutely yes, I am still the Christian you've known me as. I love people. I love God's Word. I love the church. I've not changed in my Christian walk-beliefs. I may not always say things the right way but I am growing and learning in this mission God has given me. When this election is over, hopefully Trump wins but if he doesn't, I will still love people. I will still love God's Word. I will still love the church. I will not change my Christian walk-beliefs. I will still deeply love and care for my country. I will still be involved in our governmental-political process. I will still be a poll worker in the next election, God willing. I will not have any regrets no matter the outcome of this election. I've done my part. No matter the outcome: God will ALWAYS be on His Throne. God will ALWAYS be Sovereign. God will ALWAYS get His will accomplished through imperfect and willing vessels. No matter what GOD WILL WIN. P.S. I'm so very thankful for being able to work with Larry Byrd in the Oak Initiative and for Morning Star not being afraid to engage in our governmental - political process.
