Our power just came back on a few minutes ago (about 11am). What a blessing to have it, and the Internet again, as well as many other things we take for granted until something like this happens. Just a few miles west of me they are thankful just to be alive, having lost homes and even whole communities and towns they lived in, and even worse, friends and relatives. Many are still unaccounted for, and with the devastation it will likely take many weeks and months to find them all. Our congregations will be mobilizing disaster response teams for a long time to come, but if you are well-trained and experienced in this, you could be a big help right now. I recommend Samaritan's Purse to connect with, or to donate to. They're the best and their own home town, Boone, is one of the hardest hit. You can count on them to be all over this. Thanks for your prayers. Please continue them. The recovery from this is going to be years.
