In Luke 4:1, we read about the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness. After being baptized by John the Baptist and filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness for forty days, where he was tempted by the devil. This passage highlights the humanity and divinity of Jesus. Despite being fully God, Jesus experienced human weakness and hunger during this time of fasting in the wilderness. The devil took advantage of this vulnerable state and tempted Jesus in three ways - to turn stones into bread to satisfy his hunger, to worship the devil in exchange for all the kingdoms of the world, and to test God's protection by throwing himself off the pinnacle of the temple. However, Jesus remained steadfast in his faith and resisted the devil's temptations by quoting scripture and affirming his commitment to God. This passage illustrates Jesus' obedience to God's will and his victory over the schemes of the devil. As believers, we can draw encouragement from this passage knowing that Jesus understands our struggles and temptations, and that through his example, we can overcome them by relying on the power of the Holy Spirit and the truth of God's Word. We should live in the word and will should also know that without the word of God nothing was made. The word is life. Happy Sunday to you all🙏.
