“Today is the 3rd day since these things happened” ( Luke 24:21) This morning Luke 24:21 really stood out to me… and how the parallels between Jesus being the hope for a nation, and how Trump is also a symbol of hope for the nation… and how it has also been 3 days + since Trump was almost assassinated. I cant help but think of how hard it would have been if the shot had landed on Saturday… and how hard it would have been on this nation and his friends/family. It was unsettling seeing how close that bullet came, and cant imagine this nation right now if it had taken Trump’s life. Trump is not perfect by no means, but a perfect example of power made perfect in weakness… but I am taken by the parallels and how in the same way it was devastating seeing Jesus brutally beaten and killed. He was their Messiah… Jesus was their only hope, but then He was dead. Luke 24:21 says… “But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened.” It is interesting that is has now been 3 days + since Trump almost died. If Trump had been shot and the church prayed for him to come back from the dead, and Trump did raise from the dead, can you imagine the intensity in the media, saying it was all a conspiracy! Trump is no Jesus for sure, but I feel a little closer to the devastation that the disciples had that day Jesus died. And I cant imagine the intense experience, excitement and shock that ensued when His friends and family saw Jesus alive again! They were clearly undone, overwhelmed and blown away, and finally FULLY convinced, this is truly God in the flesh! Their faith and love for Him was cranked up to 1000% where living and dying for Jesus became solidified and unshakeable. “It was divine intervention.” We are hearing that said all over the news… expert snipers, Trump Jr and even Trump himself, and many others are saying it was clearly divine intervention. It was a shaking moment to see how close it was… but the praying church heeded the warnings from the Lord’s messengers (like Chris Reed), and the praying church rose up, interceded, intervened and stopped what would have been a national trajedy. I pray today that our faith and love is cranked up to 1000% in Jesus, in the same way it was for the disciples… GOD IS TRULY IN OUR MIDST! God can protect this nation through our obedience and laying down of our lives. Thankfully our hope is not in any man or president, but we have been given the awesome honor and privilege of knowing Jesus personally, no farther than our own heart, where we can talk to Him and put our hope in Him to protect and save this nation. Praying for God to continue to raise up His unshakeable (grounded in love) Church!
