JESUS saw the joy set before Him despite the troubles of this world. The Holy Bible declares nowhere in scripture that Jesus lived a” happy “ life full of ease and leisure. Surely there were instances where He rejoiced with gladness but to be “happy” all the time without sorrow and trouble is absurd. Jesus knew the thoughts of men. He knew their betrayals and hatred for one another. This grieves Him greatly. Can you imagine knowing people’s thoughts, their true self? He was taunted at every turn by those who knew the written word of God more than anyone. Challenged and despised, His perpetual, abiding relationship with the Father kept Him in perfect peace. He has given us His perfect peace and assurance that He has overcome the world. We are the reward of His suffering— the salvation of our souls to be with Him forever. Isaiah 53:3. AMPC He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him. Hebrews 12:2 AMPC Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. John 16:33 AMPC I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]
