I've been sharing wise quotes from some of our Founding Fathers as a way to "honor your fathers and mothers," which is the only commandment with a promise attached--"That it might go well with you and you may dwell long in the land that the Lord has given you." This commandment is given us, with it's promise, in both the Old and New Testaments. So, do we want things to go well with us? Do we want longevity? Do this simple thing, find a way to honor our fathers and mothers, our natural ones, our national ones, and our spiritual ones. Take every opportunity you can to do this, and God's promise is that things will go well with you, and you will have longevity.
