When we lose trust in our justice system, the whole system will be in jeopardy. In my lifetime (75 years) I don't think there has been anything to so shatter the confidence in our judicial system as the Trump trial in NYC. It is defying the law, the Constitution, and basic common sense. This trial will likely go down as lowest point and the most devastating blow to trust in the Judicial in our history. However, it could be the wake up call that saves us if it wakes us up to how far Judicial has fallen, and brings the necessary accountability to it that the Constitution demands. The three branches of our government were designed to each be a check of the other two if they got out of line. The Judicial is constantly checking and pushing back against the Executive and Legislative branches, but when has there ever been a check put on the Judicial? Where are the Executive and Legislative branches as the country witnesses such a meltdown that has made us the laughing stock of the world. They both have the power to push back on this madness. If the judge in this trial, and the DA who brought such sham charges, are not at the least disbarred, and prosecuted for abuse of power and violating Trumps Constitutional rights, this will be the biggest blow to trust in our judicial system we have yet suffered. The possible consequences are unthinkable. Where is the leadership in our government?
