No one's needs to wonder what should be happening in our meetings of fellowship. And if we are not doing these things, then we just need to repent and come up higher into a deeper level of fellowship with Him and each other. 1 Corinthians 14:26 ESV [26] What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. Every joint should participate and supply to the Body of Christ...not one out of every two hundred. We need to also remember that it's not about finding a pattern on pages and mimicking that, but about serving the Lord and doing what is pleasing to Him, allowing Him to be God and have the first place in everything that we do. Love should be the motivation of all of these things. Love of God and love of people. 1 Corinthians 11:17-18 ESV [17] But in the following instructions I do not commend you, because when you come together it is not for the better but for the worse. [18] For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you. And I believe it in part, Hebrews 10:24-25 ESV [24] And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, [25] not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. 1 Corinthians 14:26-33 ESV [26] What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. [27] If any speak in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each in turn, and let someone interpret. [28] But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silent in church and speak to himself and to God. [29] Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said. [30] If a revelation is made to another sitting there, let the first be silent. [31] For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged, [32] and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets. [33] For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints, 1 Corinthians 14:39 ESV [39] So, my brothers, earnestly desire to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. There are some other verses not mentioned here in this chapter that we can discuss at a later date. How we are to look at what another and honor when another equally. 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 ESV [12] For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. [13] For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. We need a tear down walls of division and petty doctrinal Preferences. We are ONE. Ephesians 4:2-6 ESV [2] with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, [3] eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. [4] There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— [5] one Lord, one faith, one baptism, [6] one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
