Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them and said, "Take, eat; this is My body." Mark 14:22 His body is bread, but what was it given for? We see clearly that our LORD's blood was shed for the remission of our sins. And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. Hebrews 9:22 For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Matthew 26:28 But His body? Bread is crushed grains of wheat mixed with water and baked in heat. Our LORD's body was crushed/beaten, torn and He certainly went through the heat so to speak. Jesus fulfilled what is called by many as 'the atonement' (at-one-ment) and that, in prophecy, included not only remission of sins but also: Surely our sicknesses he hath borne, And our pains--he hath carried them, And we--we have esteemed him plagued, Smitten of God, and afflicted. And he is pierced for our transgressions, Bruised for our iniquities, The chastisement of our peace is on him, And by his bruise there is healing to us. Isaiah 53:4,5 (ylt) In Matthew's gospel we see in his day they interpreted Isaiah 53:4 as Mr. Young did in his translation. And evening having come, they brought to him many demoniacs, and he did cast out the spirits with a word, and did heal all who were ill, that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, 'Himself took our infirmities, and the sicknesses he did bear.' Matthew 8:16,17 Our LORD's body was given for our healing from sickness and pains, and deliverence from the oppression of the wicked one/ones. So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” Luke 13:16 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38 Jesus is also the passover/paschal lamb. When the Israelites ate the first passover lamb in Egypt they we provided sustenance for their long journey ahead, and as a result 'there was none feeble among His tribes.' Psalm 105:37. Over a million Jews came out of Egypt as 'none feeble'. He is our sustenance, He is our healing. We have only to believe (or go to someone who believes) to receive from Jesus the healing He already provided for 2000 years ago by His body being torn. Just as we have to believe for the remission of our sins because of His shed blood. When you take communion in the days going forward remember all this, and believe, and receive. ❤️🙌🏼 🍞 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world. John 6:51 🍞 τετελεσται !
