Now He arose from the synagogue and entered Simon’s house. But Simon’s wife’s mother was sick with a high fever, and they made request of Him concerning her. So He stood over her and REBUKED the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them. Luke 4:38-39 Rebuke in Greek is epitimaō (G2008): to rebuke; to speak strongly, to warn:— gave the disciples strict orders(1), rebuke(6), rebuked(13), rebuking(3), sternly telling(2), sternly warned(1), warned(4). Jesus would not have said “Fever, I rebuke you.” He would have spoke with authority to the condition and commanded it to go. We can do the same, to bring glory to our Lord Jesus, and to our heavenly Father, and to set the oppressed free from the works of the enemy because God has anointed us with the Holy Spirit and power, and He is with us. how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38
