Last night, David reminded me of a poem that I wrote about 8 yrs ago as he described each of our lives as being a book and referenced starting a new chapter so I thought to share my poem here with you all. COVER TO COVER Life is a book. Our pages are numbered. Each story lies beneath the cover. There are many chapters that we must begin, and follow along until the very end. Don't be tempted to skip ahead or hang out too long on the pages you've read. Learn to embrace the page that you're on no matter what may come along. "There's a time and a season for everything under the sun." A time to laugh, a time to cry, a time to be born, and a time to die. A time to sow and a time to reap, a time to build, and a time of heaps. There will even be times when a friend can't be found. But whatever page you are walking through, let the Lord be your Shepherd, and he'll see you through. He will guide you up steep mountain tops or down in the valleys so low. Times in between through grassy knolls to meadow beds where you can find rest for your soul. A place to dream along trickling streams to reflect on where you've been. Line by line through your moments in time. From cover to cover tells of our journey through time to eternity. Jesus is our beginning and also our end; the author and finisher of our faith. He has set eternity in our hearts, so he's never too far, but always with you wherever you are. THIS is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice, and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 I have heard some prophets say before that they have seen libraries in heaven. I wonder if those are the individual stories of the champions of the faith? Notice how most of the books of the Bible are named after people and also all the focused detail that is given to the genealogies. After all, John did say in chapter 25 that the world itself could not contain the books that should be written of the many other things Jesus did. REV 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1).
