“The curse of a godless man can sound more pleasant in God’s ears than the Hallelujah of the pious.” Luther. Why would Luther say this? A sincere curse can be more desirable than a contrived Hallelujah intended to display our piety before others. The answer is not to stop praising Him, but to become sincere and honest in our worship. Sincere worship is not given to see the Lord, but comes from seeing Him.
